Julia Pendlebury
The person behind Mino Art School
Hello, I’m Julia — a qualified Art and Design teacher with over 25 years’ experience teaching from Primary level through to GCSE and A Level.
There is a simple reason I have stayed in Art education all these years: I love it. Teaching people how to draw, paint and develop their creativity is endlessly rewarding.
My approach has always been rooted in real art education. I believe that when people are shown techniques and given the right guidance, their confidence and creativity grow naturally. The enjoyment, relaxation and sense of achievement that come from making art follow from that learning.
Over the years I’ve taught in both state and independent schools, including as Head of Art, and I continue to bring that same level of care, structure and encouragement to every workshop at Mino Art School.
Whether working with children discovering art for the first time or adults returning to creativity later in life, my aim is always the same — to create thoughtful, engaging sessions where people leave having genuinely learned something and produced work they can be proud of.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and have taught extensively across the UK and internationally.
