Art Classes in Lancashire and Wigan

  • Fauvism Landscapes

    Sunday, 25 January 2026

    14:00 - 16:30

    The Hartwood Hall, Chorley

Join us for a bold, expressive sip & paint afternoon at The Hartwood Hall, Chorley, inspired by Fauvism — colourful and emotionally charged!

Often described as the “wild beasts” of the art world, the Fauves used rich colour, expressive brushwork and simplified forms to create powerful, joyful landscapes that prioritised feeling over realism. In this session, we’ll take inspiration from that spirit to create a vibrant, contemporary landscape full of movement and colour.

Working on canvas using acrylic paints, you’ll be guided step by step through the process — from loose colour blocking to building depth, contrast and expressive detail. The session is fully supported and broken down clearly, making it suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some painting experience.

  • Scandinavian Folk Art in Gouache - Studio Workshop

    Thursday, 29th January 2026

    18:45 - 21:15

    The Mino Studio, Standish, Wigan

A calm winter studio workshop exploring Scandinavian folk art through gouache and watercolour. Inspired by Nordic traditions, this session focuses on decorative pattern, simplified forms, symbolic motifs and confident, expressive colour.

This is a quiet, fully guided studio experience for adults who enjoy slowing down, working with beautiful materials and developing a piece at their own pace. You’ll receive individual support throughout, with the freedom to create either a single larger artwork or a small series of 8 painted pieces.

Set in a relaxed, candlelit studio with tea, coffee, sweet treats and a small seasonal refreshment, this workshop offers a cosy, hygge-inspired evening of focused creativity.

Suitable for beginners and more experienced painters.
Please note: this is a studio workshop, not a paint & sip event.

  • Snoopy & Friends!

    Monday, 16th February 2026

    10am & 11:30am

    The Wayfarer, Parbold

    “Happiness is a warm puppy.”

    — Charles M. Schulz

This February half-term, join us for a truly special creative experience inspired by Snoopy & Friends, celebrating friendship, imagination, kindness, curiosity, books, wonder, and those quiet moments of looking up at the stars.

This workshop captures the magic of childhood and turns it into something to treasure — a beautiful piece of artwork children (and adults) can feel proud of, display at home, and treasure for years to come.

Participants will choose their favourite A3 Snoopy & Friends design and be guided step-by-step through the creative process in a fully demonstrated, mixed-media art session.

We’ll explore watercolour techniques, acrylic paint, fine pen work, layering, detail, and expressive mark-making.

  • The Blue City of Morocco - Chefchaouen

    Wednesday 18 February 2026

    18:30 - 21:00

The Wayfarer, 1-3 Alder lane, Parbold, Wigan, WN8 7NL

We’ll be painting our way through the blues of Chefchaouen, Morocco’s iconic Blue City.

This evening’s painting is inspired by the layered steps, whitewashed walls and distinctive blue palette that defines Chefchaouen — from deep ultramarine and cobalt, through cerulean, Prussian blue, and touches of turquoise, all balanced with fresh white undertones.

This is a fully guided Sip & Paint with Mino Art School, led by an experienced Art & Design teacher. The session is carefully structured so that different levels are supported appropriately, with clear demonstrations and guidance throughout.

Cath - Facebook

“As a total newby, Julia is brilliantly instructive and incredibly supportive throughout. Lovely chilled evening and brilliant results! Can’t recommend Mino Paint and Sip enough!”

Lesley - Facebook

“Fabulous experience all round. Great evening even though we’d not done anything like this since school days! Relaxed, enjoyable and all the resources you need. It was great to give it a go and experience the freedom of painting without expectation. Totally liberating and I’ve painted since.”
